Kazuri Beads

This quilt was made for an auction to support NICASA's Women of Worth program. The program is a collaboration between women in the Nicasa program who are in recovery and women in Kenya who supply the beads from which the Nicasa women make jewelry. Thus, I made the quilt with African-pattern based fabrics. In fact, the main fabric looks almost like Kazuri beads! To learn more about the WOW Program, go to http://www.nicasa.org/

There are so many things that I love about this quilt. The feature fabric does indeed look like beads. Its companion piece in the border is the perfect complement. Your use of the yellow and the purple as accent colors is flawless. All combine to make such a lovely piece. This donation of labor and materials, while certainly to a very worthwhile cause, is a generous one. Very very nicely done!
